FAQ

Tea is a beverage produced from the leaves, buds, and twigs of the evergreen shrub Camellia sinensis. This plant is used to produce all teas, regardless of their flavor or "color." Teas including oolong, black, green, white, and pu-erh come from the same plant. The manner in which they are selected and processed is what distinguishes each of these teas from the others.

There is caffeine in tea (black, green, white, and oolong), but it is present in fewer amounts than in other drinks like coffee. For instance, a cup of black tea typically contains only around 25% as much caffeine as a cup of coffee.

Loose-leaf teas lose flavor because of the oxygen in the air, specifically. The teas should be kept dry and out of direct sunlight and moisture in sealed containers. Teas shouldn't be kept in the freezer or refrigerator. Cooler temperatures won't keep your tea fresh, and moisture and freezer or refrigerator scents will give it a pleasant taste.

Loose-leaf tea consists of whole tea leaves, allowing for a richer and more nuanced flavor compared to tea bags, which often contain broken or powdered leaves. Tea bags are convenient for quick brewing, while loose-leaf tea offers a more authentic and flavorful experience.
